Bath Time!

I had my first real bath today. Daddy was gentle and thorough.

I liked when mama sprinkled warm water on my tummy.

I liked it so much, I cried when daddy tried to take me out.

All done!

Hare Krishna!

I have been having some rough evenings and nights. I do fine during the day, but my tummy keeps me up with gas pains from my immature digestive system or maybe from a stomach bug. When I've been fed and burped and peed and pooped and nothing consoles me, my mama gives me some grie water and my daddy walks me around the bedroom and chants the Mahamantra to me in a sweet voice. I quiet down and fall asleep in his arms. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare! Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare! Thanks daddy!

Like Mama Like Baby

When my mama was a baby, my mamuma would put her face down in her lap and pat her back. My mama loved it and would fall asleep. My mamuma tried to comfort me the same way after my parents gave me some gripe water to help my gassy tummy. I also fell asleep. I guess my mama and me have something in common already.

Check Out My Beetles

These are my Little Beetle cloth diapers -- velour, so soft! Thank you again, Better for Babies!

Now That I'm Big

I can fit in my car seat better. Don't I look like a big girl?

A Bug

I got a stomach bug that gave me gas and watery poop for a day or two. I'm starting to get on track, but yesterday evening I was crying from my tummy hurting. Daddy tried to comfort me.

My Daddy and Me Can Play Now

Notice how well I hold my head up. I'm getting stronger!
But I do get tired from the effort.

My Mamuma Captivates Me...

...with her Konkani talk and singy-songs.

...with her necklace.

I really am growing up and seeing the world.

Outings Galore!

Yesterday I went to a Mother Blessing for Janelle, the midwife who handed me to my mama at my birth. She will have a little one soon herself! I am so grateful for all she taught my mama in the home birth childbirth class (with the folks from the reunion I went to last week). She helped my entry into this world be smooth and positive for me and my family. She gave my mama the courage and confidence she needed to help make the birth pain-free experience that it was (except for the pushing--good thing my head wasn't bigger, my mama says). Anyway, my mama and I went to bless Janelle and her birth into motherhood.
Christy (my mama's midwife from the first pregnancy and the woman who introduce my mama to her friend and midwife Meredith) and Itzela (my EC pal) were there.

Then, we hopped over to Jeremy and Madhavi's baby shower. Their little one is due in February. I can't wait because we're going to form a little musical group with training from our daddies. My mama forgot to take pictures there so we'll have to update this entry with photos of the gorgeous mama-to-be, joyful papa and baby bump.

Mamuma Comes for Visit #2

In case you've been missing my musings, I haven't been very chatty because my mamuma is here for a visit. I showed her the route I take to go on my walks. We went to the chiropractor together. We watched No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency and Agatha Christie's Poirot and Miss Marple. We are going to do a little shopping today, too.

Runnin' With the Big Dogs

I am officially over eight pounds. I had my six week visit with Meredith and Janelle, the midwives, and on the scale I've been weighed on for all the other visits, I am 8 lbs. 2 oz! Woohoo! So really, I gained over a pound in ten days. Go me! I can now go in the stroller on walks in the woods in my super cute red wool outfit and hood. Now if only the temperature would go up above freezing...

Smiley Me

My mama tried to wake me up from a nap by talking to me. It didn't work, but I gave her some smiles when she sang the little made up song she sings to me, especially when I'm nursing. Note: This happened before smiley me when I saw my mama for the first time--just getting her ready. (The video is 4 min. but the good stuff happens between 1:45 and 2:45, so start it and surf around for a minute or let it buffer so you can fast forward if you think watching me sleep is boring.)

Happiest Mama on the Block

I just made my mama the happiest mama ever! (and not because I finally pooped after more than a day without AND I waited till she took me to the potty) The pediatrician said since I'm starting to focus more and even cry that I'll probably be able to see my parents and respond to them facially. Don't you know, I did just that after a nap. After I woke up, went to the potty, and nursed I was chilling with my mama for a bit. She was holding me facing her and talking to me when I focused on her face, heard her voice, and SMILED!!! and SMILED! and SMILED! I gave her lots of smiles while looking into her eyes. She was over the moon happy about it. It's nice to be able to give such pleasure with such a small gesture.

Another Doctor Visit

We tried out another pediatrician today. She does conventional medicine plus homeopathics, nutrition, and craniosacral therapy. She also does wonders for children with autism. I was pretty fussy during my visit since I was woken up and hungry!
Anyway, she said I am doing really well, probably due in part to my wonderful birth. She weighed me too. Guess how much I weigh now....go ahead and guess! SEVEN POUNDS FIFTEEN OUNCES!!! I gained fourteen ounces in just over nine days. Wowzer!

Waking Up Flipbook

Apparently moving from the dream world to waking life is undesirable. I always cry when I wake up. Who knows why.

My New Baby Legs

My Baby Legs came in today. Now I can have warm legs without having my parents take pants on and off or open and close a bunting. (One is off in these because it fell off.)

Sleepytime Thoughts

I solve all the world's great problems in my sleep...

The Whole Enchilada

My mamuma was protesting that there are no pictures of my whole body, mostly just my head. So here are some of the whole me:

EC Victories

EC is day to day, good and bad, but yesterday was a great day! I waited to pee until I woke up and my parents took me to the potty; sometimes I waited until after I had nursed even. Between the my efforts and their efforts I went over 12 hours in the same clean diaper! In fact, I would have gone even longer, but my mama doubted her instincts and missed a poop because of it. Still, it was a good day for EC.

Abandoned?

My mama left me for the first time (with my Daddy). She went to the grocery store. I think it was harder on her than me, seeing as how I was asleep the entire time and continued sleeping even when she got back.
