Fall Outside Fun

There was some daylight left in a beautiful fall day so mama and I went outside on an adventure. First we took my sensory bin and filled it with leaves.

Then I wanted to traipse around the property a bit. Along the way we saw some mushrooms. My mama doesn't let me touch them so I grabbed a leaf. "I touch it with a leaf!" I told mama. Then I discovered the chalk eggs and drew a bit before asking mama to join in. I drew a butterfly (see close up of purple/pink "butterfly"), and when we were all finished I stood up and loudly and proudly said "Peelu! I drew a butterfly!" I took a break before deciding to walk on. Of course, then I didn't want to leave the chalk behind. I took the chalk eggs and sat down to draw on the driveway but lost the coloring interest by the time my mama ran me inside to clean off dog poo.

When I came back outside I thought about playing with the chalk but spotted the wagon. The chalk clearly wanted to go "wee" in the wagon, so we went on a little walk. We went out the driveway and down the sidewalk! My mama was surprised when I knew to turn into the street because of the bushes. I even heaved the wagon up the hill. A lot of work!

We made our way down to the fish because I had to see them. I fed them some food, wanted to kiss them (and mama said the fish would be scared and didn't like it) and then I spotted a fun obstacle to climb around in for a minute. The wagon was waiting, so we went to take it home. We went to leave and I changed my mind, deciding I needed to sit in it and have mama pull me so I could go "wee."

Put My Rainboots on Myself!

My mama said something about switching the shoes around, but I was happy to tromp around as is.

Olivia's Open Studio

We went to see Olivia's new studio today. Her daddy had built her a fancy castle. It was so cool! There were also some kittens out back. Some little dogs came by. Olivia and I went running up and down the sidewalk. It was a good time, even if Olivia wasn't in the mood to play with me.

Puddle Jumping!!!

My mama and daddy finally got me some rainboots and a raincoat. I have so been wanting to jump in puddles, but I didn't have the proper footwear. Today, I joyfully splished and splashed in puddles. Yay, yay!

Reading

I love books. I like to sit on the potty and read books. If anyone comes over I like them to read me a book. There are a few books I know and like more than others. Lately The Hungry Little Caterpillar is a favorite. I read it often, but of course when my mama turns on the video I do less. Here is the tail end of me inspired to read to my mama (instead of her or daddy reading to me over and over and over and over)...

Open and Close Activity Bin

Recently, my mama was doing dishes, washing out a ketchup bottle, when she decided to look around for "open and close" jars, boxes and things for an activity box. I got right to work with this then that. At one point I lost the lid in the book bin and had to take all the books out and put them all back in before continuing to play. It was a good time.

Scoop and Pour

Then the other day my mama had me help make Vietnamese spring rolls by putting the bean sprouts, chopped cilantro, and chopped lettuce into separate bowls for my daddy to assemble. She let me pour the peanuts, too, even though she wasn't sure if I could do it. I was so into this activity. After an initial spill (see the peanuts on the counter?) I realized on my own how to be more careful, and I spilled not a single peanut more. It was quick but a great learning experience for us both my mama and me.

Playing with Paper

My mama get these circulars in the mail that frustrate her because she doesn't want them and it's such a waste of paper. The other day she felt like ripping them up. Just after, she walked by the bin she wanted to use as a sensory bin. She decided to let me crumple them up and toss them in the bin. Then she let me play!

My daddy was having rehearsal and I was hungry so my mama made me a grilled cheese. This meant I played with the sensory bin, danced about and ate "cheese samish" all while listening to my daddy's newly forming music!
